Business bank account abroad
A company that invoices or employs staff in another country often needs a local account. These guides set out, country by country, the conditions for opening a business account.
The opening file
Banks ask for articles of association, a company-register extract, the identity of directors and beneficial owners, and a precise description of the business, clients and expected flows. A foreign company often has to show a real presence in the country: an office, staff or local contracts.
Online business banks open faster but do not accept every activity or every director nationality.
Choosing the right bank
Compare transfer fees, available currencies, payment tools for collecting from clients and access to a relationship manager. A company without local substance will find it harder to open and keep its account.
